Stalker or also known as sasaeng is always a problem for K-Pop idols. This year, however, more and more idols seem to be having a hard time because of them, one of them Yeri Red Velvet.

Yeri is known for her outgoing personality, both with friends and with fans. The 21 year old singer loves to interact with ReVeluv whenever he can, especially on social media. In the past, he routinely held live broadcasts on Instagram to chat with everyone who followed him.

But lately, things have turned worrying. While talking with ReVeluv on the messaging platform Dear U recently, Yeri expressed his desire to hold a Q&A for fans. However, he admitted that he was "afraid" to live on Instagram because sasaeng always called him.

"I thought I couldn't do (broadcast) live Instagram anymore because I was afraid there would be an incoming call (from sasaeng)," said Yeri. Sure enough, last June, Yeri told fans on a live broadcast that things got tough because sasaeng kept calling and texting her, even in the middle of the night.

According to one former idol, sasaeng obtained an idol's phone number by befriending or manipulating people who work for telecommunications companies. It looks like Yeri is the victim of this disturbing practice.

Despite her doubts, Yeri is trying to talk to fans on Instagram. But in just a few minutes, he was already being bombarded with calls and messages. The live broadcast immediately stopped, and Yeri returned to the Dear U platform to discuss the situation. "ㅜㅜ (crying emoticon) Looks like I can't live," Yeri wrote.

Determined to continue showing love to her fans, Yeri decided to open a text-based Q&A on Instagram. However, while ReVeluv is grateful that Yeri is doing her best to keep in touch, it's understandable that they are upset and angry that the situation has turned out this way.

Fans ask SM Entertainment to do better in protecting its artists from sasaeng. After all, Yeri wasn't the only one who was affected. Red Velvet's fellow members Seulgi, Wendy, and Joy also experienced interruption in their broadcasts by calls from sasaeng.
