Song Jae Ho has been suffering from chronic illness for a long time and it is said that the condition of the actor who is nicknamed the 'national father' has recently gotten worse.
The sad news again came from the South Korean entertainment industry. On Sunday (8/11), senior actor Song Jae Ho was announced to have died at the age of 82 years (or 83 years of Korean age).
The Korea Broadcasting Actors Union revealed that Song Jae Ho died because of his illness. "Song Jae Ho has died after battling an illness for more than a year," said the representative.
Song Jae Ho has been suffering from chronic illness for a long time and it is said that his condition has recently gotten worse. The funeral home for Song Jae Ho will be opened in the funeral hall of Seoul Samsung Hospital.
Song Jae Ho is from Pyongyang, North Korea. He graduated from the Department of Korean Language and Literature at Dong-A University and debuted as a voice actor at the Busan KBS Broadcasting Office in 1959.

Song Jae Ho then went to Chungmuro in 1964 and turned into an actor starting with the 1975 films "Baksa Bar" and 1981 "Three Times Short And Three Times Long".
Before his illness got worse, Song Jae Ho was active in a number of films and dramas such as "Memories of Murder", "Private Eye" and "Haeundae". The last films starring the actor with the nickname "National Father" are "Race to Freedom: Um Bok Dong" 2019 and "A History of Jealousy" 2019.
Song Jae Ho is very passionate about shooting as well as acting. He was also certified referee for the International Shooting Federation and served as an international referee for the 1986 Asian Games shooting event and assistant referee for the 1988 Seoul Olympics shooting event.
