BLACKPINK Announces Special Project To Celebrate '4+1 Project' 5th Debut Anniversary

It seems that 2021 will be a special year for BLACKPINK (Black Pink) and their fans. As is known, BLACKPINK will celebrate their fifth anniversary on August 8, 2021. To celebrate this, the agency announced that it would release a cool project.

On this day, Tuesday (15/6) morning, YG Entertainment unveiled a poster to mark the start of their fifth anniversary project. The words “4+1 Project” are written on the poster. However, despite giving the signal, no further details have been disclosed.

The agency stated, "In order to fulfill the love and expectations of many people, we have planned various types of projects". In addition, the agency also provides a link which will later contain details for their project. Fans can visit the link here.

BLACKPINK debuted on August 8, 2016 with their debut single album “Square One” which contains the songs “Whistle” and “BOOMBAYAH”. They topped the charts and set new records with many hits, such as "AS IF IT'S YOUR LAST," "Kill This Love," and "How You Like That."

Recently, BLACKPINK's “BOOMBAYAH” was reported to have surpassed 1.1 billion views on YouTube as of today, Tuesday (8/6) at 10:29 KST. The video was released on August 8, 2016 at 8 p.m. KST. about four years, nine months, 30 days, and 14 hours to reach the milestone.

“BOOMBAYAH” is BLACKPINK's third music video to reach 1.2 billion views after “DDU-DU DDU-DU” and “Kill This Love”. But this achievement makes BLACKPINK the only Korean artist with three music videos to reach the milestone.

Not only that, impressively, "BOOMBAYAH" is the only K-pop debut music video with over 1.2 billion views. This certainly makes many fans very proud of this achievement and continue to give their support to Lisa cs. (wk/putr)
