Bangtan Boys (BTS) are currently enjoying their success in the international music scene. Not only are their newest songs popular with the public, their old songs have also received attention. It was recently confirmed that BTS's old album "Skool Luv Affair" has taken a place on the Billboard 200 chart this week.
"Skool Luv Affair" is BTS 'second mini album featuring the title track "Boy in Luv" and was first released on February 12, 2014. A limited edition repackaged version entitled "Skool Luv Affair Special Addition" was originally released that year.
However, recently, BTS's agency, Big Hit Entertainment, conducted a survey on Weverse to determine which out-of-stock or out-of-print album fans would most like to see for re-release. As expected, the album "Skool Luv Affair Special Addition" was the first.
The album was finally reprinted and released again on October 13, 2020. This led to Billboard announcing on October 26 local time that "Skool Luv Affair" is debuting on the Billboard 200 this week at No. 12.
"Skool Luv Affair" finally officially became BTS's 12th album to enter the charts. The Billboard 200 chart itself is a chart that ranks the most popular albums in the United States in all genres. The Billboard chart for this week (dated October 31) will be updated on their website on October 27 local time.
On the other hand, BTS was confirmed to make a comeback soon by releasing a new album titled "BE". The album is scheduled for release on November 20 at midnight EST or 2 p.m. KST.
According to a notice on Weverse, "BE" will be released in a deluxe edition format and will contain "music that looks the most like BTS". This album will convey the message "even in the face of this new normality, our lives will go on".
BTS is also rumored to have submitted the album "Map of the Soul: 7" for the category Album of the Year, Best Engineered Non-Classical Album, and Best Pop Vocal Album. They also submitted "Dynamite" for the categories Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Music Video, and Best Pop Duo / Group Performance.
Seven nominations are not a small number, especially for an award event like the Grammy Awards. Although the truth is not yet certain, if BTS is actually nominated for the Grammy Awards for the seven categories above, then it will be a very proud achievement for the 7-member boy group.
