CL commented on the great success of BTS (Bangtan Boys) on Billboard. The 2NE1 member, who is now active in solo careers, praised the achievements of RM (Rap Monster) and his friends.
CL brought this up at the press conference for her two new double singles "HWA" and "5STAR" which was held on October 29th. CL mentioned BTS when she was asked about how she felt about being the first Korean female soloist to earn her place on the prestigious Billboard Hot 100 chart.
CL began, "I'm really happy to see BTS's achievements (on Billboard). When I was young, no Asian pop stars were included. Many try to express their culture but end up copying. Therefore, I thought it would be better if someone represent."
The owner of the name Lee Chaerin continued, "That's the reason I'm promoting overseas. Now, there are many Asian and Korean artists who are recognized around the world. I really like today's music industry, where we can express culture."
CL continues to praise BTS for their efforts and achievements worldwide. He said, "This is the case of BTS. They made the boundaries much lighter. I have to do persistence on my part as well. I know it will be difficult. They are doing really well and are really amazing."
For this comeback, CL made a strong appearance on James Corden's “The Late Late Show”. The strong performance of “HWA” was filmed at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Seoul.
In other news, BTS recently held their online concert "MAP OF THE SOUL ON: E" on October 10 and 11. This concert broke records by earning 993 thousand spectators. Currently they are still promoting the single "Dynamite" which scored great success on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. This single topped the prestigious chart three times.
BTS will also greet fans through their latest album "BE". The first concept photo was released on October 20 at midnight KST and has successfully excited fans. Their special album will be released on November 20. The album was highly anticipated because RM and friends participated directly in the making process.
