TWICE recently made their long-awaited comeback with their second studio album "Eyes Wide Open". Members Nayeon, Sana, Dahyun, Jihyo and Chaeyoung sat on their official YouTube channel to talk about the album.

It was revealed that the 5 members wrote several songs on the album and they wanted to share the inspiration behind the lyrics. Leader Jihyo talked about his first song, which happens to be third on the track list for the album. The song is "Up No More" which is apparently based on his personal experience with insomnia.

"It was a time when I suffered from insomnia a lot. I had a hard time with it so I thought to myself that if people could understand the song, it would be fun," said Jihyo.

Sana's song, "Do What We Like" is the 4th song on the album and she talked about her experiences writing her own songs and her thought processes. "When I heard the demo for the first time, all I thought about was the depth of the ocean. But after hearing everything put together, my mind changed because the atmosphere of the song also changed," continued Sana.

Dahyun was next up and it was revealed that he wrote not one but two songs for their album. “Bring It Back” was the first and Dahyun revealed why he kept changing the lyrics of the song.

"When I originally wrote this song, it was meant to be a song for fans. However, they asked me to write something more advanced to match the melody so I completely changed it to what it is now," Dahyun continued.

When talking about the next song "Queen", Dahyun talked about the meaning behind the title and the confusion around it. "The title is not called 'Queen' because my nickname is' Queen Dahyun which is taken from Kim Dahyun's full name. It's all just a coincidence. However, this song is for our fans whenever they need extra zeal or encouragement in themselves," Dahyun explained. .

Next up is Chaeyoung who wrote "Handle It" which he revealed originally for their extended drama "More & More". "I originally wrote this for 'More & More' but it felt a little too emotional at that time," said Chaeyoung.

"It didn't fit. I felt it might be too much for the listener so after consulting with other people, I decided to save it for this album," he continued.

Lastly is Nayeon who wrote the lyrics for their song "Depend On You" where she revealed that the song is inspired and dedicated to her fans. "This song is really inspired by our fans. I got inspired after chatting with them," said Nayeon.

"They all have a lot of worries but they find strength in our songs. I write this as a letter to them and how we view them as our fans," concluded Nayeon.
