'Parasite' director Bong Joon Ho's exhibition will be held at this event

Bong Joon Ho has carved out the history of South Korean cinema through the film 'Parasite'. For his achievements, the Mise-en-Scène Short Film Festival will hold an exhibition of his works as a form of appreciation.

Director Bong Joon Ho gets another award. Not about one of his works, but an award for some of his works.

The 20th Mise-en-Scène Short Film Festival will hold a special exhibition for Bong Joon Ho's work. The event, called "Director Bong Joon Ho's Special Exhibition" will screen his short films. This is an appreciation because Bong Joon Ho has carved out the history of South Korean cinema.

The exhibition will feature "White Man", "Memories in My Frame" and "Influenza". These three films are historical works for Bong Joon Ho. One of them even won the 5th Jeonju International Film Festival in 2004.

First, "White Man" is Bong Joon Ho's 1993 work which tells the story of an ordinary little citizen on his way to work after finding a piece of his index finger. It is predictable from the title, that this film contains the theme of social ills among white collar circles.

"Memories in My Frame" is a work he made in 1994. This film tells the story of a person's memories after losing a dog in childhood. Set in the same year, 'Incoherence' is a short film and was directed by three different people. This film is considered a sharp depiction of the hypocrisy of modern man.

Finally, the film "Influenza" which was released in 2004. This film carries the concept of a mockumentary about an unemployed person through CCTV cameras. Through CCTV footage, it is described how the main character experienced a decline.

As is known, Bong Joon Ho has patented his name in the history of South Korean cinema for his achievements in working on the film "Parasite". The film was widely received worldwide and won the Best Picture award at the 2020 Oscars.

Meanwhile, the Mise-en-Scène Short Film Festival will be held at the Seoul Art Cinema and Seoul Theater. This event will be held for seven days from the 24th to the 30th of June. For the sake of safety, this event will follow the COVID-19 quarantine rules thoroughly. (wk/inta)
