Source Music Finally Changes Refund Policy For G-Friend's Official Fanclub Membership After Receiving Many Protests. What's the Change Like?
G-Friend's disbandment left a lot of polemics. Previously, Source Music drew the anger of G-Friend fans because of the refund policy for BUDDY's official fanclub membership.
This is because the returned funds can only be used at the Weverse Shop. Source Music stated, "All refund amounts will be returned via 'Weverse cash', which can be used at the Weverse Shop."
What makes fans even angrier is that they don't have much choice when it comes to spending on G-Friend related items. Because apart from albums and DVDs, the only merchandise currently listed on G-Friend's Weverse Shop is just a light stick holder.
After reaping many complaints, Source Music finally changed the policy. On Wednesday (9/6), reports emerged that Weverse had sent an automatic call to every member of the G-Friend fanclub to announce the change.
Unlike before, membership refunds will be sent directly to each member. That way, fans are free to spend the money.
Meanwhile, G-Friend officially disbanded after all the members decided not to renew their contracts with Source Music. This decision surprised many, because there was no indication the group would be disbanded.
G-Friend debuted in January 2015 with the release of a mini album titled "Season of Glass". Since then, the group released many hit songs such as "Me Gustas Tu", "MAGO", "Glass Bead", "Rough", "Navillera" and many more. G-Friend's latest album is the third regular album titled "Walpurgis Night" which was released in November 2020. (wk/eval)
