Suga BTS (Bangtan Boys) has voiced his support for women several times at different times. His remarks about respecting women's choices also attracted attention.
Suga did not directly voice his support. However, the 1993-born musician and rapper was caught several times using items as a form of gesture to honor women who were harassed during the Japanese occupation of Korea.
In fan signs and other activities with BTS, Suga wore accessories from Marymond, a South Korean fashion and accessories brand that launched a product line dedicated to women who were victims of abuse during the Japanese occupation in World War II.
The jewels, mirrors, cell phone cases and other items released were meant to glorify the female figure in a historical period that shook millions of people and left untold destruction.
During a BTS fan sign event several years ago, Suga used a Marymond mirror decorated with purple flowers, large green leaves and a black background. By using this item, he shows his support for women.
In addition, during his appearance with BTS, Suga wore a red bracelet with a silver flower-shaped charm which is also part of the Marymond collection to support women.
In an interview, Suga revealed that he wrote the lyrics of the song with the inspiration of the friendship of a girl and a boy. The owner of the name Min Yoongi also said that he would always respect a woman's choice, whatever it was.
At that time Suga was asked what he would do if the seven BTS members liked one woman. Suga wisely replied, "I respect the tastes and thoughts of each individual. I will not force her to love me. I will respect the girl's decision."
Meanwhile, BTS has made a comeback with the English single "Butter", which has broken records here and there. The single managed to top the prestigious Billboard Hot 100 chart for three consecutive weeks. Reportedly they will soon comeback next July. (wk/chus)
