TWICE recently made an explosive summer comeback with the album “Taste of Love”. This album contains the title track “Alcohol-Free” which has a strong summer theme. They recently revealed who they think fits the “Alcohol-Free” concept best.
Recently, TWICE had an interview with Rolling Stone, where they talked about their latest album, evolving concept, and more. Given that their latest comeback is filled with a bright, happy, and fun summer atmosphere, TWICE was asked to name the member that best fits this concept.
“Fans will often pick a particular member who really stands out in every song. As a group, who do you think shines the most on ‘Alcohol-Free’?” the question sounds. Nayeon chose Jihyo, saying that her tanned skin and summer visuals in outfits for this comeback made her perfect for “Alcohol-Free”.
"I think our outfits for this promotion match perfectly with Jihyo. Jihyo is always tanned for summer and I think her healthy-looking skin tone suits this season. The concept of 'Alcohol-Free' is not only summer but also takes inspiration from American culture South with bright colors, which I think looks really good on Jihyo," said Nayeon.
Dahyun then chose Chaeyoung. She cited her iconic pink hair in the MV as one of the reasons why she thought she fit the concept perfectly.
"I want to mention Chaeyoung's new hair. I noticed that it looked really good when we were filming and matched the vibe of the music video. Right now, her hair is a bit damaged, but in the music video, you will see that it looks very nice and bright," replied Dahyun.
"Alcohol-Free" is known to be produced by JYP's own boss, Park Jin Young. This is a summer song that combines bossa nova and hip hop genres. The song itself tells about the magical moment of falling in love. The catchy chorus includes the names of sweet wine and a cocktail that listeners can easily sing along to.
The MV for the song was released on Wednesday (8/6), ahead of the album "Taste Of Love" which was released on Friday (11/6). To celebrate the comeback, this girl group made their first appearance on the popular American talk show “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”. They took the virtual stage for the premiere of “Alcohol-Free”.
