YG Entertainment received criticism from the Korean Medical Health Workers Union for the nurse uniform featured in BLACKPINK's (Black Pink) music video entitled "Lovesick Girls". Responding to this criticism, the agency which also oversees iKON spoke up.

On Monday (5/10), the Korea Health and Medical Workers Union revealed a statement that the depiction of a nurse in the music video contributed to distorted stereotypes about nurses. They also asked YG Entertainment to take appropriate action.

"First, we express deep respect for the nurses who are always on the side of the patient and fighting on the front lines.

'Lovesick Girls' is a song that raises the question of why we continue to find love when we are hurt by it while also delivering a message full of hope. In the music video for 'Lovesick Girls', the scene with the nurse and patient reflects the lyrics, 'No doctor can help me when I'm lovelorn.'

There is no particular intention for that. But we are concerned about distorted views.

We ask you to think of music videos as an independent art genre, and we would really appreciate it if you could understand that each scene was created with no other purpose than to express the music. The production team is currently considering and discussing whether the scene should be edited. "
